Images from our annual drive into Rocky
Mountain National Park and over Trail Ridge Road. Every Coloradan
should do this drive once a year just to remind themselves why
they live here. The drive was the culmination of a nice relaxing
weekend in Fraser, Colorado.
The hike to Diamond Lake from the 4th
of July Trailhead in the mountains west of Boulder is always
spectacular with waterfalls, beautiful wildflowers and stunning
vistas, ending with the serene and picturesque Diamond Lake.
While we have hiked into the Inidan
Peaks Wilderness area many times from the East side of the divide,
this time we hiked in from the Fraser Valley or West side of
the divide. This was an early summer hike and we were unable
to make it all the way to the lake due to the snow melt we encountered.
