After Skiing for the first half of Spring Break, we traveled to Florida for the second half of Spring Break and to celebrate Sheila's mother's 90th birthday. This trip almost proved tragic as we were involved in a serious Jet Ski accident in which Brendan suffered significant injury and was lucky that it was not the worst. Click to Jump ahead to:
We arrived and spent the first day on Clearwater Beach and enjoying our stay at the relatively new Opal Sands hotel...
Another day on Clearwater Beach including spotting a pod of Manatees and, of course, fishing on Pier 60....
In the morning we charted a fishing tour with Scales and Tales and Captain Steve to do some deep Sea fishing...
A few pictures from an afternoon Jet Ski trip that very nearly ended in tragedy. Brendan was injured in a collision and was trauma lifted to the Bayfront Medical Center after a harrowing 30 minutes on the beach where he was in shock. He ended up with a scary concussion, a fractured scapula, a small fracture on his pelvis near his groin and a fractured Tibia. He as lucky that it was not worse and this incident to say the least put a significant damper on the entire trip and the next several weeks. He would fully recover to 100% of his normal self within 8 weeks.
